Governor-General

[edit]

The Governor-General was the representative of the monarch in Sierra Leone and exercised most of the powers of the Monarch. The Governor-General was appointed for an indefinite term, serving at the pleasure of the Monarch. After the passage of the Statute of Westminster 1931, the Governor-General was appointed solely on the advice of the Cabinet of Sierra Leone without the involvement of the British government. In the event of a vacancy the Chief Justice served as Officer Administering the Government.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

Psychological Evalutaion

[edit]

History

[edit]

Much off the information in the beginning of the history section is vague and under cited. There are numerous references to origins in China in the 1800's, but no more specific details are given nor are there sources for the information.

The use of the word "battery" in this context is either jargon or at the least confusing. It is used multiple times with no references to a definition for this context, which im understanding to mean a "collection" of tests.

The paragraph over Frances Galton and James Cattell are more about their work on IQ tests, and less about their development of measures themselves. The portion covering "Mental Tests and Measurements" is not cited at all, and is not verifiable.

Most of the years are listed in centuries, with no specific dates or even years.

Formal vs Informal

[edit]

First paragraph puts heavy focus on unstructured, without any equivilent detail for structured beyond the first paragraph. Somewhat advocates for a mix of both, stating that "most clinicians agree" with a mix, but then stating that clinicians should/should not do something.

Psuedopsychology

[edit]

States psuedopsychology as a problem for evaluations. They bring it around and show what psuedopsychology can do to true psychological assessments, but not before dragging it through the dirt and calling out anyone using anything from "pop-psychology" in practice as "the problem".

Sources

[edit]

Roughly half of the sources are not linked to an article. They are properly referenced, but theirs no way for me to quickly verify the information.

Talk

[edit]

Editors note the lack of many examples of evaluations, with suggestions for evaluations as well as what contexts some evaluations are given in.

Discussing similarities between psych evaluation and assessment. Some consider them too similar and suggest scrapping this page to combine with the other.
